“The Elephant in the Room!” The story is familiar: in a dark room, several people are asked to describe what the elephant is like by touching it. Each person touches a different part of the body and describes it from his perspective. That’s how it is with finding solutions for buildings and climate protection. Decarbonizing buildings is a complex undertaking. It needs the participation and cooperation of science, politics, educational institutions, developers, planners, professionals and craftsmen.
On Wednesday 25 January 2023, the team of the BUSLeague project organized an event entitled “Transforming Austria, Building Competencies”. The representatives from various organizations and sectors listened to a series of diverse and exciting presentations and then joined in the discussion.
The BUSLeague project builds on the European BUILDUP Skills Initiative and a number of successful national and European projects dedicated to increasing skills and high quality execution in construction. BUSLeague has implemented the elements for Europe-wide recognition of competencies, and capacity building using the example of three micro-trainings.
